Technical Information
Sports performance clothing is evolving fast, bringing with it a whole new vocabulary of buzz words and phrases. It is tempting to play it safe and stick with what you know, but we are here to help you step up your game.
It is our job to let you know the difference between Gore-TeX and CoolMax, or how Insula works - and we personally select the best brands available, chosen for innovation and quality.
The right gear will feel good, look great and enhance your game.
18 Golf Technical Information:
Midlawn Trousers
Specific Tee pockets are engineered into facings and a magnetic closure to the score card pocket makes it easier to access than traditional buttons or snaps.
Polo Shirts (Cad, Cutt, Ormond),
We have designed our polo shirts for a more fashion aware customer who wants to wear his shirt off the course as well as on. We have also mixed lycra to these polo shirts with maximum stretch so that your “swinging” is not compromised while “playing a round”. Attention to detail has always been a high priority, so look for the 18 striped collar or the “9 hole” button which spells 18 when stitched.
Erino
This garment was developed as a base layer to be worn next to the skin to keep you warm and comfortable in winter and wick sweat to keep you dry in warmer conditions. We knew there was only one fabric to do the job, highest grade Merino wool. Merino wicks sweat naturally which keeps you dry and comfortable as your body temperature increases and it also possesses a natural anti-microbial property which means it resists adopting body odour which many alternative synthetic’s attract! (great news for the 19th)!
There are many Merino wool products on the market and most believe all Merino is the same, however we know different. Our Merino is the finest in the world and believe is the difference between playing with a premium golf club and a hockey stick, they will both strike the ball but with different results. Where better to source our fabric but from the home of Merino, New Zealand, however we didn't stop there, we specified the very highest grade from the suppliers who endorse their product with a recognised brand “MAPP” which stands for Merino Advanced Performance Programme.
All “MAPP” Merino has been selected from specific herds which are allowed to graze on the best grasses only found high up in the Southern Alps. All this good food, pure air, cold conditions and hectare after hectare to roam means the strength, length and thickness of each fibre is the highest possibly achievable. Look for the “MAPP” swing ticket the next time you buy pure Merino, without it you could be getting fleeced!
